Anne Haines is the president, chief executive officer and principal founder of Accion, a nonprofit micro and small business lending organization headquartered in Albuquerque in 1994. Under Anne’s stewardship, the organization has grown to serve entrepreneurs in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
Anne recently completed two terms as a director of the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Anne has been recognized locally and nationally for her leadership and impact in microfinance and economic development. A recipient of a Governor's Award for Outstanding New Mexico Women, she has been honored with Humanitarian Awards from the Albuquerque Jewish Community Center and the Celebration of Excellent Women. Named by The New Mexico Business Weekly and Albuquerque Business First as a "Top- Performing CEO" and "Woman of Influence," she is also the recipient of a United States Small Business Administration Financial Services Advocate of the Year Award for New Mexico. Under Anne’s leadership, in 2012, Accion was recognized with two national honors: the Access to Capital award from the US Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency and the Power of One Award from the Association for Enterprise Opportunity. In 2015, she was honored with the YWCA New Mexico’s La Estrella Award.
Prior to founding Accion, Anne served as the marketing and program director for the Micro Industry Credit Rural Organization of Project PPEP in Arizona.
Anne received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and a Master's degree in Management from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management of Willamette University in Oregon.
